Scoring Formula

There are lots of scoring variations for SameGame. The original CHAIN SHOT game gave linear scores for groups of 5 or more blocks—quite punishing!

The most well known implementations are summarised in the following table:

Shark Turtle uses the same formula as Insane Game: (n-1)^2 simply because I believe scoring for groups of 2 blocks is more approachable to players.
